This one is rather old, but I feel unfairly neglected by fans of electronic based music. This album is what came about when Steve Hillage joined the mad French hippies. and everything worked. Being a Gong record, you are subjected to the usual tales of stoned pixies flying around in invisible teapots. Yes, really - perhaps this is why their work is neglected?
But the silly bits pass in the first few minutes, and before you know it the synths are burbling away, voices are stretched into drones, and the arch hippie Hillage is letting rip with the guitar, to chanting backgrounds.
There are a couple of minor returns to silliness, but love this record for it's instrumental triumphs and you won' go far wrong.
If you want more of the same beware - for my money they never came close to being this effective again, and there are some diabolical 'best of' collections around. But i did see them live in 2002 and the magic was still there, so perhaps there is hope yet. They really were ahead of their time.
